Review: Eye of the Storms: The Rock Star’s Gulf Coast Girl

Eye of the Storms: The Rock Star's Gulf Coast Girl Eye of the Storms: The Rock Star’s Gulf Coast Girl by Lisa Gillis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Marissa has just had a terrible break up with her fiancee, to help get over it she accompanies her friend to a music festival, and after one night of passion with Jack Storm her life is forever changed. Jack is a rock star, plain and simple, but there is something about Marissa that he can’t quite explain or forget. Their passion is deep, but is it only a lustful attraction or could it lead to happily ever after?
I’m not normally a fan of these type of books, but I was pulled in by Lisa Gillis’ story. The sex scenes were done in a way that didn’t have me rolling my eyes as much as others I’ve read, and they didn’t go on for pages and pages with I appreciated. I liked that the book was told from the perspectives of both Jack and Marissa, but I would have liked more from Jack’s side. The only other thing I didn’t like was that Jack is in a band named Jackal and I kept thinking of the real band Jackyl, which kept making me think of that TV show “Full Throttle Saloon” and would kind of take me out of the book for a moment. This is the first book in the series and I’d read more. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars, and obviously only for adults.
