Being a parent is hard, there is no other way to put it. With this book Ms. Roppolo has tapped into the funnier side of things and has taken a lighthearted look at her own life and shared it through small essays. From her son bringing home a girl named Vixen, to her younger son’s autism diagnosis Ms. Roppolo tries to put a comedic spin on it all with success, though there are a few blunders. I enjoyed the book, but I found she used a lot of the same phrases and too many brand names. I think these essays would be most enjoyable in weekly snippets, like in the newspaper rather than all at once as presented in this book. As the saying goes a little goes a long way, and in this case I agree. I rated this book three out of five stars.
