Review: Perfect Lives

Perfect Lives
Perfect Lives by Lauren Loos
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As the saying goes, “the grass is always greener on the other side” and now four friends from high school will experience this first hand. After a rocky marriage Kate is now a gorgeous single party girl not looking to settle down yet, or is she? Michelle is a career driven woman not letting anything stop her, until her biological clock will no longer be ignored. Alex has a charismatic husband with a job that allows them expensive thing and lots of travel, but is no longer happy or confident. Rachel seems to have the perfect family life, but what is hiding behind her fit body and false smile? Though they all envy each other, they will soon learn not everything is always what it seems.

These characters were all very relatable and written in distinct ways, which made it easy to remember who was who. There weren’t too many surprises in the book as far as plot twists, most were pretty predictable, but I was shocked at the end. I was looking for more chapters but that was it! Most stories were tied up well enough but Alex’s ending was really upsetting. Ms. Loos shows talent though, and someday maybe she will revisit these characters again. I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars.
