Review: The Girl Before

The Girl BeforeThe Girl Before by Cassandra Jamison
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Orphan Miley Fairchild has recently moved in with her new foster family. Immediately things just don’t feel right to her, not only is her room filled with creepy dolls but she discovers that her new foster parents lost a daughter that looked a lot like her. Are they just using Miley to fill some empty void in their life? There’s also an unusual connection between Miley and her new foster brother Sawyer, something deeper than a “sibling” bond. After a local boy goes missing things in Miley’s life go from bad to worse, and she no longer knows who she can trust. Could her new foster family be behind the boy’s disappearance? If Miley doesn’t discover the truth she might be next!

This book had me guessing! I kept thinking I had the answer and then I’d second guess myself, and I still wasn’t right! The ending felt a little rushed though and I would have enjoyed reading more about the aftermath of everything. The rushed ending made it a little hard to digest everything that had happened but I still really enjoyed this book though and I rated it four out of five stars!
