Review: The Truth about My Scratches

The Truth About My Scratches (The Carolina Killer Files #3)The Truth About My Scratches by Kiersten Modglin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jaciey Thomas doesn’t fit in at school, and everything at home hasn’t been the same since she turned fifteen. Senior year has approached and Jaciey feels that nothing is getting better, and all the popular kids at school keep trying to befriend her and she has no idea why. When Brayden, the new kid, starts showing Jaciey attention she is nervous, but quickly succumbs to his charms. Secrets are surrounding Jaciey, and everyone seems to know what they are except for Jaciey herself. Will Brayden be the one to help her find them out, or is he part of them too?

Another hit from Ms. Modglin! Things started out a little slow, but once it got going I was already trying to figure out what the end game was going to be and, once again, Ms. Modglin totally surprised me! I really have only two issues, the first being that I don’t think Jaciey should have fallen so quickly for Brayden, but I understand why it happened that way. The other issue being that the epilogue felt forced and unnecessary. Otherwise, another wonderful thriller that will keep you guessing! Four out of five stars!
