Review: Highland Yearning

Highland Yearning Highland Yearning by Dawn Ireland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Highland Yearning by Dawn Ireland is a passionate romance filled with mystery, deception, and plenty of action. Ariel Sutherland is a single young woman who works for an insurance company. While investigating a stolen family heirloom, Ariel is magically transported to Scotland sometime during the seventeenth century. Upon arrival she meets the owner of the family heirloom, Caden MacKay, a no nonsense highlander that doesn’t trust her because she’s a Sutherland. Caden is determined not to like or care for the Sutherland Lassie, but the longer he’s around her, the more he starts to care. Caden cannot afford to get wrapped up in a relationship just yet. He is trying to stop his brother from marrying another Sutherland woman. Caden does not want to see his brother marry someone that belongs to the Sutherland family. He blames this family for the death of his mother. In hopes of stopping the wedding, Caden takes Ariel to meet her distant relatives. This family reunion is not a joyous event. Strange accidents begin to occur forcing Caden and Ariel to spend a lot of time together. After many twists and turns true love finally prevails, false vows broken, and tragic family secrets are revealed. This story is fast paced and quite enjoyable. I rate this book five stars.
